
Police rescue Five abducted students in Gusau

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued five students of the Federal University Gusau in the state, following their abduction.
The Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, Mohammed Bunu, in a statement on Friday, says armed men suspected to be kidnappers invaded the house of one Isah Mai Bread in the Sabon Gari area of Damba village, Gusau Local Government Area (LGA).
Bunu stated, through the Second-in-Command, Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Yazid Abubakar, that the intruders took N200,000 from the home’s inhabitant and went to the student flat in the vicinity.
They allegedly kidnapped two male pupils and three female students and took them to an unknown location.
Divisional Police Officer, Damba Division, mobilized the division’s striking force for search and rescue operations and rescued two of the victims, namely Blessing Matthew ‘F’ and Comfort Olola ‘F’.
The robbers were apprehended by the police squad in the Karazau woodland of Damba village; seeing the police, the bandits fled and abandoned the remaining three student, according to the statement.
Bunu stated that the victims were transferred to the hospital for medical care before being reunited with their relatives, and that efforts were being made to apprehend the fleeing perpetrators.
The Police Commissioner asked the people of the state to provide timely and trustworthy information to the police and other security agencies promote peace in the state.
