
NOTAP gets new Governing Board
The Federal Government has inaugurated the Governing Board of the National Office for Technology Acquisitions and Promotion, NOTAP.
At the inauguration of the Board in Abuja, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Dr Olorunnimbe Mamora urged the Members to bring their expertise to support NOTAP actualise its mandate and the aspiration of the ministry for the socio-economic growth of the country.
Dr Mamora advised the Board and the management team of NOTAP to adhere to hierarchy and live in harmony and warned the Board members to desist from playing the role of the management.
He introduced the members to the principle of the 5Cs which means-Cooperation, Collaboration, Coordination, Communication and Cordiality to run the affairs of the agency to achieve better results.
“If we work, having this 5Cs in our minds, we will make a difference “he said.
The Director General of NOTAP, Dr Dan-Azumi Mohammed appreciated the president for the inauguration noting that the composition of the Board would help the agency build on its achievements and address challenges.
Dr Dan-Azumi explained that NOTAP had been in existence for 30 years and technology was evolving, hence the need for the Board to come up with policies that would put the agency on global limelight.
“Things are changing across the globe and NOTAP has been in existence for the past thirty years and so bringing people from different ministries will add value to its establishment.In terms of policy issues, that is where we expect the Board, to look at area NOTAP could improve”. he explained.
Speaking on behalf of the Board members, the chairperson , and permanent Secretary in the ministry Mrs Monilola Udoh represented by a Director in the ministry Dr David Ehiabhi thanked the president for the call to serve and promised the commitment of the Board to deliver on their mandate.
