The Chief Executive Officer of a Nigerian Fintech, Shola Akinlade, has acquired a majority stake in a Danish football club, Aarhus Fremad.
Akinlade is also the founder of another football club, Sporting Lagos FC.
He said the recent acquisition would benefit both clubs.
‘’We expect the collaboration to benefit Aarhus Fremad, a 76-year-old club with a strong community presence, by gaining access to Nigeria’s promising football talent pool and broadening its international scope’’, Akinlade maintained.
‘’The alliance will create an environment that nurtures education, growth, and opportunity for players and the community at large’’, he added.
The CEO of Aarhus Fremad, Lars Kruse, said the agreement would bring an international dimension for the club to work with.
Aarhus Fremad is a second division club in Denmark. The club is about 76-year-old.
