
New Naira Notes: Kwara NOA begins public enlightenment
Nigerians have been urged to embrace and make use of the newly designed 200, 500 and 1,000 Naira notes by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, in good faith.
Kwara State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Olusegun Adeyemi who stated this during a nationwide motorized campaign on the newly designed naira notes in Ilorin the Kwara State capital, maintained that the policy is not aimed at witch hunting anyone or group but to check corruption.
Mr Adeyemi explained that the legal tender has not been changed within the last 20 years, which had led to majority of the notes to be mutilated, causing huge amount for reproduction.
Kwara State NOA Director, noted that the idea of changing naira notes would make it fresh and durable.
He further said that reproduction of new notes check circulation of counterfeit money, stressing that the security features embedded in the newly designed notes make it difficult for fake production.

Mr Adeyemi said one of the major advantages of the redesigned naira notes is to ensure that old ones starked with some individuals in the society are brought back to the banks to boost Nigeria economy.
Declaring the motorized campaign open, Kwara State Commissioner for Communication, Mr Sodiq Buhari advised people to comply with the directive of the CBN.
Some people who spoke to journalists during the campaign complained of inadequate new notes at the Banks, urging the CBN for extension of deadline.
