China’s new Premier, Li Qiang.
Li Qiang has been elected as China’s next premier and will now lead the government following the retirement of Li Keqiang.
Almost all the 2,900 delegates at the National People’s Congress voted for 63-year old Li Qiang, the former Communist Party leader of the country’s biggest city of Shanghai.
According to the BBC, many people see Li Qiang as a pragmatist and will work towards reviving China’s struggling economy.
New ministerial appointments are expected to be announced on Sunday.
With his election, Mr Li is now the second-highest ranking official in China’s political system.
