
INEC distributes sensitive materials for governorship elections
The Independent National Electoral Commisssion (INEC) has commenced distribution of sensitive election materials ahead of the March 11th Governorship and State Assembly elections in the state.
Kwara State
Addressing Newsmen during the batching of the sensitive materials at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ilorin branch, the State administrative Secretary of INEC, Mr. Julius Yagba said the materials will be distributed across the sixteen local government areas of the state.
According to him the essence of the early batching of the materials is to ensure timely distribution of the materials, assuring that measures have been put in place to remove challenges recorded during the previous elections.
Yobe State
Also in Yobe State, sensitive materials for governorship and state assembly elections had been distributed
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Yobe, Ibrahim Abdullahi said the Commission has taken measures to address hitches experienced during the Presidential election, in order to prevent recurrence.

Mr Abdullahi, who assured residents of INEC’s readiness to provide a “level-playing ground” for everyone, also appealed to political parties to “play by the rules” and respect the provisions of the electoral act.
On the Yobe South Senatorial elections which was declared inconclusive, the Resident Electoral Commissioner said the commission would soon announce the date for a fresh poll in the affected area.
INEC cancelled the Yobe South Senatorial election result for a polling unit at Manawaci in Fika local government area due to discrepancies in vote tallies.
