
INEC begins distribution of sensitive materials in Yobe

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials for governorship and state assembly elections in Yobe.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner for Yobe state Ibrahim Abdullahi said the Commission has taken measures to address hitches experienced during the Presidential election to prevent recurrence.


Ibrahim Abdullahi who assured the readiness of INEC to provide a level playing ground for all to thrive also appealed to political parties to play by the rules and respect the provisions of the electoral act.
On the Yobe South Senatorial elections declared inconclusive, the Resident Electoral Commissioner explained that the position of the commission would be announced on when to conduct election in the area affected.
INEC cancelled the Yobe South Senatorial election result for a polling unit at Manawaci in Fika local government area due to observed discrepancies.
