
FG spends over N10bn on social investment program

Over N10 billion has been expended on the four components of National Social Investment Program of the Federal Government in Niger state.
State Focal Person, National Social Investment Program, Amina Musa Guar disclosed this when she led beneficiaries of the program to a thank you street rally to President Muhammadu Buhari in Minna.
Amina Musa Guar explained that 560,000 pupils are fed daily with 810 beneficiaries of household uplifting program and 23,000 N-Power beneficiaries are currently benefiting from the program in Niger state.
According to her, the program had a total of 710,000 l beneficiaries across the four components of Home Grown School Feeding Program, N Power, Household Upliftment Program and that of Empowerment Program GEEP.
Program Manager, Home Grown School Feeding Program, Mr Umar Shaba expressed hope that the incoming administration will expand the number of beneficiaries to include new pupils for maximum benefits.
Most of the beneficiaries who spoke to Radio Nigeria in Minna said they want the incoming administration to sustain the programme due to its importance to Nigerians especially the indigents.
