Elon Musk apologizes after mocking twitter staff
Twitter chief executive Elon Musk has rendered apologies after an exchange he had on the platform with an employee Halli Thorleifsson.
Halli Thorleifsson had tweeted to Mr Musk saying: “Your head of HR is not able to confirm if “I am employed or not”.
Mr Musk responded by asking: “What work have you been doing?”
After a series of questions and answers Mr Thorleifsson said he received an email confirming that he had been fired.
Mr Thorleifsson was tagged as the worst by a tweet from Mr Musk on Tuesday.
But in a distinct rethink, Mr Musk retweeted few hours later to apologise offering Mr Thorleifsson his job back.
He explained it was a misunderstanding and blamed it on untrue and insignificant things told to him
Mr Thorleifsson has muscular dystrophy and has campaigned in Iceland for better wheelchair access.
Last year, he was voted person of the year in Iceland by four media outlets.
A good number of Mr Thorleifsson’s former colleagues could not understand why he had been singled out for such public criticisms.
Twitter chief executive stated after the apology that Mr Thorleifsson was considering coming back to Twitter.
